So, it’s no longer 2008 and we’re on to 2009! I’ve never been in the habit to make an actual New Year’s resolution and stick with it as I’d rather just take it upon myself to try and improve upon things without having to rely heavily on the beginning of a whole new year. There are so many New Year’s resolutions that I’ve made that I never really had any type of intention of fulfilling in the end.
With that being said, 2008 was definitely a year filled with it’s own share of ups and downs. I left my shitty position from Lamestop and moved on over to a video game publisher. Even as a 3rd-key holder, you are nothing more than a mere temp with more responsibilities on your plate and a slightly longer employment period. Gamestop makes no secret that they will, to put it bluntly, shit on you. As an ex-employee, I cannot condone their actions nor do I support any of them and will never buy from them again unless I am really forced to (see Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World special circumstances).
My husband and I have definitely learned so much about each other and I feel that it’s only made our relationship stronger. We started to collect figures not too long ago in mid-to late March 2008 and were able to amass such a large amount in a relatively short time. The problem with the figure scene was that there was a backlog of really beautiful figures that had already been released that I was interested in. Things like this tend to go unnoticed until you stumble upon them on a comprehensive list of figures done by a certain manufacturer and you’re perusing through the entire list. There was just a lot of stuff that I became a fan of because I am a very big fan of art in it’s many shapes and forms. Anyways, we would buy a large quantity of figures at brick-and-mortar stores due to the enormous amount of figure backlog. Nowadays, it’s a bit easier to determine level of priority for a figure and which one should take precedence over another. Unfortunately, this hobby is fairly expensive and they are just constantly releasing something, be it exclusive or not.
